TADBURN YOUTH FC 6-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT - 26 & 27 JUNE 2010
We would like to invite you to participate in the Tadburn Youth FC Annual 6-A-Side Football Tournament. The event will again be held at Mountbatten School, Romsey, covering age groups 8’s to 14’s (2009/2010 Season). Please see the attached time schedule for the day and time for each age group.
We are very aware of the possibility (touch wood!) of England playing a ‘World Cup – Last 16’ match on either 26 or 27 June, if they get through from their qualification group. England will either play on Saturday 26 June (ko at 7.30pm) if they win Group C, or on Sunday 27 June (ko at 3pm) if they finish runners-up. We have therefore organised the tournament to ensure there will be no clash with either of these times, as there will be no tournament matches played on the Sunday afternoon.
The tournament will again be played on a round-robin basis, with (ideally) 4 leagues of 4 teams in each age group on the Saturday, and 3 leagues of 4 teams in each age group on the Sunday (except for the U8s – see below). The top two teams in each league will go through to a Main Cup competition and the remaining teams into a Subsidiary/Plate Cup. This way we can ensure each team gets to play at least 4 games, and interest for all is maintained throughout the day!
Trophies will be awarded to members of both the winning and losing finalists in each competition.
The Under 8 category is a non- competitive event, in line with FA Regulations. Therefore this will be played on a round-robin basis, with no qualification into a Main Cup or Plate, and medals will be awarded to players from all teams in this age group.
If you would like to attend, please download the application form and return it to the address shown on the form, together with a cheque for the correct remittance, no later than the 15 May 2010. Completed applications will be accepted on a ‘first come first served’ basis. All applicants will be advised as soon as possible to confirm their place in the tournament.
All participating Clubs must be affiliated to the Hampshire Youth Football Association. Under 8 players must have been eligible to play small-sided football under Hampshire Youth FA Rules during the 2008/2009 season, to meet the minimum age requirement.
Successful applications will receive written acknowledgement in early June 2010, together with final details, including location map, final timings and Team Registration Forms - which will need to be completed and handed in when registering on the day.
